Attorney General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says experts are telling them globally that even if tomorrow COVID-19 finishes off from the face of the earth or if a vaccine is developed, we won’t necessarily be able go back to the same tourism arrivals as we had prior to COVID-19 for the next two or three years.

While speaking to the Labasa Chamber of Commerce, Sayed-Khaiyum says the reality of the matter is that people are very skeptical now.

He also questioned the people who would like to travel abroad now.

Sayed-Khaiyum adds that at the international stage, Fiji is positioning itself to say that as soon a vaccine is developed, Fiji must be one of the first in line because we are a small country and we will get doubly punished if we do not get access to the vaccine quickly.
