The Fiji Football Association has clarified that there were no Labasa players who received two yellow cards each played against Tailevu Naitasiri in a Digicel Fiji FACT group match yesterday.

This comes as Tailevu Naitasiri coach, Tagi Vonolagi had alleged that four Labasa players double yellow cards were not recorded from the first two matches and they were supposed to miss the third match.

Fiji FA says as per the official match report, four players - Akeimi Ralulu, llaisa Vulimainavuso, Sitiveni Rakai and Netani Suluka received a yellow card each in their first match against Rewa.

They say in the second match, llisoni Lolaivau received a yellow card while Lekima Gonerau received a yellow card in the first half and a red card in the second half.

Fiji FA says all Labasa players were eligible for its final group match against Tailevu Naitasiri FC except Lekima, who did not play because of his two-match suspension.

They say the match assessor's reports have also been thoroughly looked into by the Fiji FA Competitions Department and there is no such occurrence as alleged and adds they are just waiting for the video footage to fully close their internal investigation.

Fiji FA adds they strongly condemn any form of baseless remarks, disrespectful or unprofessional behaviour, and are committed to fostering a culture of mutual respect and cooperation.
