Fiji Water Flying Fijians captain Waisea Nayacalevu and number 8 Viliame Mata have both arrived at their new respective clubs and are both psyched to prove their worth in the Gallagher Premiership for the new season.

Nayacalevu was signed by Manchester-based club Sale Sharks as he is coming in to fill the midfield void left by Samoan-born England star Manu Tuilagi.

While that is a difficult job to do, Nayacalevu is well-equipped and is expected to step up.

According to rugby analysts, Nayacalevu will not bring the same kind of physicality to the Shark’s midfield, but he is not exactly lacking in size either and with England flyhalf George Ford pulling the strings at Number 10, the dynamic centre could enjoy a lot of success at the club.

Mata on the other hand is expected to make a huge impact for his new club the Bristol Bears this coming season.

With the Bears reverting back to their daring style of rugby at the back end of last season, and reaping the rewards, having Mata in their squad is a dream signing for coach Pat Lam.

The Olympic gold medallist will have plenty of opportunities to get his hands on the ball in space next season, which will be exciting to see.

Both players are also expected to feature for the Flying Fijians in the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup which will kick off next week.

Fiji will take on Samoa at 6pm next Friday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva in the first round of the competition.
