Families in Nasinu will soon feel a greater sense of safety and belonging as the Nasinu Town Council works to brighten up their neighbourhoods with street lights.

Many residents believe this initiative will not only deter crime but also encourage stronger community connections, making their neighborhoods feel more like home.

Council Acting CEO Felix Magnus says the initiative, supported by the Nasinu Festival Charitable Trust is focused on the protection of women and children in these communities, offering support and resources to help uplift the most vulnerable members of society.

He says the ongoing collaboration between local agencies underscores a shared commitment to creating a safer, healthier environment for everyone.

He adds these groups also aim to address pressing social issues and foster a sense of community empowerment.

Magnus says the Nasinu Town Council will continue to push for positive change, bringing together key stakeholders to provide necessary services and support to those who need it most.

The Council is also working alongside the Community Police, National Fire Authority, Narcotics, Health, Saint Giles, and Social Welfare to spread a united message in the battle against poverty, crime, and drugs in the Tovata, Senivono, Narere, and Maravu settlements.
