In a bid to create more awareness of the issues concerning tobacco use, the villagers of Namuamua in Namosi have declared their village hall a Tobacco-Free Hall.

While speaking on this initiative, the Health Ministry says the primary goal of this is to educate community members about the serious dangers associated with tobacco use, including health risks and its impact on families and the environment.

They say by promoting knowledge and understanding, they aim to encourage healthier lifestyle choices among all residents and strive for a tobacco-free future.

The Ministry acknowledges the great work of the Nursing Practitioners of Namuamua and their dedicated team of health professionals for their tireless efforts and unwavering support which was crucial in making this initiative a success.

The Health Ministry says the newly established Tobacco-Free Hall will not only serve as a venue for future educational workshops and awareness campaigns but will also act as a community resource centre to facilitate discussions about healthy living and the importance of tobacco cessation.

They believe that this initiative will play a vital role in fostering a healthier environment for everyone in Namuamua Village, promoting a sense of community and well-being for all residents.

Meanwhile, the Tui Namosi Ratu Suliano Matanitobua has already issued a stern warning to anyone from his province thinking of engaging in drug-related activities that they will not be allowed to live in any village or community within the Namosi Province.
