Serious concerns have been raised by a Nadera shop owner after his brother was stabbed 5 times by a thief and robbed in front of their shop just after midnight last night.

While raising serious concerns about this brutal act, the Nadera shop owner says there is an illegal kava stall which is situated right on the roadside selling drugs.

He says this is where the suspect came from, and nothing is done until now.

In a letter to the Nasinu Town Council and the Fiji Police Force, the owner says they have raised concerns about the illegal kava shop to the Special Administrator of the town council and it’s falling on deaf ears.

He says youths loitering in the area and abuse of drugs in Nadera is happening at a high rate.

The owner says his brother was stabbed 3 times on the arm, once behind the ear, had a near miss on the neck, once on the cheek and once on the chin.

He was taken to the hospital and Valelevu Police responded within minutes.

When contacted by fijivillage News, Police confirmed that the Southern Division Task Force is in pursuit of the suspect of an aggravated robbery in Nadera this morning.

Divisional Police Commander South, SSP Wate Vocevoce says the suspect had allegedly stabbed and robbed a businessman along Visako Circle as he was walking towards his vehicle.

SSP Vocevoce says the suspect is known to Police.

The suspect stole the victim’s laptop bag containing valuable items.

The Nasinu Town Council says they will meet with Police tomorrow relating to the illegal stall, youths loitering and increase in the abuse of drugs in the Nadera area.
