Earning his PhD from the University of the South Pacific was not just an academic achievement , it was a journey made possible by the unwavering support of his wife’s belief in him and his children’s constant encouragement provided the foundation he needed to navigate the challenges of his rigorous academic path.

These are the words of newly graduated Dr. Ravneil Nand, who attained his PhD degree from the University of the South Pacific yesterday.

Dr. Nand says his pursuit of a PhD was driven by a deep desire to contribute to the field of computer science and make a real-world impact.

He says he hopes his findings will contribute to fields that require optimization in fast-changing environments.

He further says balancing work, family and the demands of a PhD was no small feat.

He says he credits the supportive academic environment at the University of the South Pacific, where he worked, as crucial to his success.

He adds that the key is prioritisation.

Dr. Nand says he is focused on mentoring young researchers and continuing his academic journey.

His advice to anyone considering higher studies is when it gets tough, you become tougher and take any problem with ease.

He adds that you are allowed to struggle and it is through struggling that you grow stronger and find better ways to succeed.
