Must-win for Drua this weekend to remain in top 8, Crusaders still have hopes of making playoffs

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will need a win this weekend against the Highlanders to maintain their spot in the top 8 of the overall Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific points table and also a chance to move up into 7th place with 2 games remaining in the round robin competition.

The Drua is currently sitting in 8th place with 21 points and are 2 points behind the Highlanders who are in 7th place with 23 points.

A loss could see the Drua slip off the top 8 if we see upsets in some of the other results this weekend and could see the Force moving up to 8th place if they secure a win against the Reds since they are currently sitting in 9th place with 19 points.

The defending champion, the Crusaders, also have a chance to still make it into the top 8 by the end of the round-robin competition, but they will need to secure bonus point wins in their remaining 2 matches and hope that the Drua and the Force lose both their remaining matches without bonus points.

The Crusaders are currently in 10th place with 15 points.

The Drua will take on the Highlanders at 2.05pm this Sunday in Dunedin in round 14 of the Super Rugby Pacific competition.

In other matches this week, the Chiefs play the Hurricanes at 7.05pm Friday, the Brumbies host the Rebels at 9.35pm Friday, Moana Pasifika take on the Waratahs at 4.35pm Saturday, the Crusaders play the Blues at 7.05pm Saturday, the Reds meet the Force at 9.35pm Saturday.
