Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sitiveni Rabuka continues to receive congratulatory messages from leaders in the Pacific and around the world.

In a congratulatory letter, Prime Minister of France, Elisabeth Borne extended her sincerest congratulations and best wishes to Rabuka.

She says France very attentively followed the Fiji elections in which French observers participated, and she is particularly pleased to commend the civic-minded behaviour and democratic values that Fiji citizens demonstrated throughout the process.

Borne also says France will be by Fiji’s side as we carry out our mandate and hopes that the two countries’ relationship of friendship and cooperation will grow even stronger in the future, on the basis of shared values and positions in the international arena.

In another congratulatory letter, the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez says on the occasion of the election as Prime Minister of Fiji, he extends cordial congratulations , while reiterating his desire to continue strengthening the ties of friendship between the countries.

President of the French Polynesia Edouard Fritch also congratulated Prime Minister Rabuka and reaffirmed French Polynesia’s long standing relationship and friendship with Fiji.

He says he is aware of the commitment and dedication to the prosperity of the Island nations and territories of the Pacific and looks forward to working closely to further deepen the historical ties, as well as strengthening the mutual cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.

Fritch says Rabuka’s tenure as Prime Minister is crucial to maintain continuity in the region’s foreign policy with the Forum Leaders as framed by the 2050 strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent.
