250 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Suva Stake took some of their time out on Saturday to clean up My Suva Park. Director of Communications Sulueti Kama says they were asked by their leaders to find a community service project to do and they chose My Suva Park because most of the people use the park.

Kama says they cleaned up the mangrove swamps, cut the grass at the park and also removed rotten wood. She says the clean-up campaign included children as young as 4 to 5 years old and adults as old as 60 to 70 years.

The Director says My Suva Park is a very special place for Suva families and most of the people use this park as a place to relax and it would be wonderful if people can clean-up their rubbish after they use it.

Another team from LDS also cleaned up the Harland Hostel Gospel School of the Deaf in Samabula on Saturday.

They will also be cleaning up the Nausori Health Centre this month.
