Despite the differences in the community, the Manikoso Women’s Club still celebrates their diversity as they hosted their annual break-up party at the Manikoso Village Hall yesterday. Manikoso resident, Salote Uluilawanigusu say it is great to see cooperation among the ethnicity that have lived within the community in the past.

She says the break-up party celebrates their year of commitments and it is a new beginning of another year for them.

Uluilawanigusu says their plan for next year is to build the washroom and convenience for their village hall and also to financially support the education of children who are not able to attend school.

Another Manikoso resident, Margret Banyn says it is also part of their plan for next year to fundraise for the footpath and also to make proper drainage for the community to avoid flooding during heavy rain.

She says women work together fantastical and she thanked them for their cooperation in the community.

Milika Naulumatua who is also part of the Manikoso Women’s Club has encouraged women that since we are in the festive season period none of the women should be facing sexual assault or harassment by their partner at their homes.

Naulumatua says if anyone is facing that, it is better for them to share it with women and seek help.

She also reminds them that they need to maintain the village by law act which has been legalized by the government regarding their dressing style while in the village.

She adds working together is the key to achieving their goals.

There is a total of 60 women who are part of the Manikoso Women's Club
