Lautoka Muslim College Dux, Humairaa Malawiya who has won 16 trophies from during the school’s annual awards and graduation is urging students to work hard consistently and make time for things that are important.

Malawiya won the Leadrship Award, Outstanding Student, Year 12 top scorer, along with highest marks in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Urdu in Year 12 External Exam last year and Year 13 Internal Exam this year.

She also won the best Islmiyat Student Award and 3 Fiji Muslim League Quran Awards.

She says one of the challenges she faced was prioritizing her studies while simultaneously managing other roles in the school including being a head girl.

Malawiya says she knew she had to set aside specific time to do things and knew that it had to be done.

She has dedicated her achievement to her late grandfather and the Almighty.

Malawiya’s father, Wahid Malawiya says his father passed away about 6 months ago but he knows that he would have been proud of his grand-daughter’s achievement.

Wahid says he is a beekeeper but he wants his daughter to achieve her dreams.

He adds every parent should support their children and fulfill their needs to ensure they make it in life.
