Pacific Recycling Foundation and Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited, in partnership with Paradise Beverages Limited and Tourism Fiji, has launched the ‘Lase Vou’ program during the Fiji Tourism Recycling Forum held at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi.

PRF says the ‘Lase Vou’ program is a dedicated initiative to advocate the reuse and recycling of empty beer and tribe bottles within Fiji’s thriving tourism industry.

They say with the growing concern over empty glass bottles ending up in landfills and dumpsites, this initiative provides an innovative solution for their recovery.

The Lase Vou program is also a call to action for the entire tourism industry to take responsibility and create a cleaner and sustainable Fiji.

Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi is the first hotel to take on the ‘Lase Vou’ program, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability.

PRF Founder, Amitesh Deo says the program aims to engage hotels and resorts in a collaborative effort to reduce waste, promote the circular economy, and ensure that empty bottles are efficiently collected and recycled.

Deo says the program seeks to establish a robust network within the tourism sector, where best practices in waste management are shared and adopted.

He says Paradise Beverages is a key partner in this initiative, highlights the importance of the program in aligning with its sustainability goals.

Paradise Beverages General Manager, Mike Spencer says they believe that sustainability is not just a goal but a responsibility.

Tourism Fiji Chief Operations Officer, Leigh Howard also echoed these sentiments, highlighting the importance of their partnership with PRF and other partners in achieving great strides towards sustainability.
