As part of their celebration and commemoration of International Women's Day, Lami Kava has officially launched their policies on domestic violence to build a more respectful and supportive workplace.

The policy helps their employees understand what constitutes domestic violence and specifies the responsibilities of the company and employees towards preventing or addressing it with clear procedures for reporting and investigating cases.

While officially launching the policy, the Australian High Commissioner John Feakes says Lami Kava's action through this new policy demonstrated its leadership within the kava industry and community.

He says to address the impacts of domestic violence on its people and its business, Australia is pleased to support this important policy through its partnership with Lami Kava.

Meanwhile, Lami Kava's Managing Director, Donny Yee says the policy represents an important part of their business operations to prevent domestic violence in their workplace and improve the safety of their employees.

The Managing Director says the plan recognises domestic violence as a major problem in the country and it can impact the employees work performance, productivity and safety.
