LTA take complaints against their staff very seriously – Acting CEO

LTA Acting Chief Executive Officer Irimaia Rokosawa.

The Land Transport Authority is urging the public to refrain from abusing their officers who are simply doing their work to keep our roads safe at all times.

This is after the LTA Acting Chief Executive Officer Irimaia Rokosawa received reports from his Road Safety Officer teams that they are often met with rude remarks, curse words, and even threats of physical violence while conducting their work.

Rokosawa says their officers have raised concerns that passengers have been harassing them as they try to conduct their duties, especially when monitoring PSVs and validating passenger e-ticketing passes onboard buses.

He says this is not the kind of behaviour that Fijians should be engaging in.

He adds their officers are simply trying to do the work they have been mandated to do.

Rokosawa is urging the public to please act with courtesy and kindness towards LTA officers at all times.

The Acting CEO says all their staff undergo special training sessions about how to interact with customers and how to work with professionalism at all times and to report any cases of misconduct from LTA staff if it ever happens.

He further says this ensures their customer service is on par with international standards.

Rokosawa says they take complaints against their staff from customers very seriously and investigate all claims of misconduct and if necessary, the appropriate disciplinary actions will then follow.

He is calling on all Fijians if they have any issues with LTA or their officers to raise it with them through their website at www.lta.com.fj/addcomplaint.
