LTA staff should liaise with their team leaders if they have issues regarding COVID-19 related protocols - Simpson

Land Transport Authority’s CEO, Samuel Simpson.

The Land Transport Authority’s CEO, Samuel Simpson says any staff of the LTA who is identified as a contact of a positive case of COVID-19 is sent home to be swabbed and instructed to go into a period of home confinement and the LTA does not allow any staff to resume unless they provide an authenticated letter from the Ministry of Health allowing them to return to work.

His comments comes after some staff of the LTA Valelevu branch contacted us saying some staff who are contacts of positive cases in bubble 2 have not been told to get swabbed and isolated at home as per the health protocols.

These staff have told us that they have children and are fearing for their safety and security.

The staff say positive cases of COVID-19 are emerging from bubble two.

Simpson says they are satisfied with the protocols and practices at the LTA and any staff that have any particular issue regarding COVID-19 protocols should directly approach their team leaders or Manager Human Resources and all cases will be dealt with fairly.
