In bolstering the health care infrastructure in the country, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has entered into a contribution agreement by donating a total of $171,692 to the Ministry of Public Works to refurbish the Central Sterile Services Department at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.

The funds will cover building supplies, labour, equipment hire, occupational health and safety measures and contingencies, and also the execution of the project that will benefit all Fijians.

Church representative Uraia Levaci expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with the Fijian Government on the initiative and emphasised the Church's dedication to support the project that will positively impact communities and enhance essential services like healthcare.

Marica Ritaki, the primary contact for the organisation also highlighted the significance of the project in strengthening the importance of the initiative and the commitment to transparency and accountability in utilising the resources provided by the church to achieve the project's objectives effectively.

In a statement, the LDS Church says the partnership between the church and the Fiji Government exemplifies the power of collaboration in addressing critical healthcare needs.

They say through concerted efforts, both parties aim to enhance medical services and contribute to the well-being of the people of Fiji.
