Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica says the Opposition is getting too sensitive as they did a lot of good things for which he has acknowledged them but there are a lot of things that they did not do well and the coalition government will fix it.

However, Opposition MP Jone Usamate says it's not only this government, it's the people that were there before who put in the processes and systems and as a result of that, you get the kind of performance that you had.

While speaking during the debate on the consolidated review report of the Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji for 2021 and 2022, Kamikamica says one of the first things that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka did was change the CAAF board which has now become more professional.

He says Gavoka, within a few months, also confirmed the Acting CEO as the first woman CEO of CAAF.

Usamate says CAAF is now well respected globally which did not happen overnight and to get that kind of respect takes time.

He says they should stop complaining and get on with the job.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka has confirmed that out of the 77 established roles in CAAF's structure, 70 positions have already been successfully filled while the remaining will be filled within the next six months.

He says to ensure uninterrupted service delivery, CAAF has contracted overseas consultants.

Gavoka further says CAAF is actively working on enhancing its Skills Framework policies which will attract and recruit specialised personnel by offering suitable positions and competitive benefits.

He says as soon as they are qualified and experienced, our neighbours grab them and it is quite a challenge.

The Deputy Prime Minister says the improved policies are projected to be implemented by the fourth quarter of this year.
