JP Bayly celebrates 70 years of being a cornerstone for the needy in Fiji

For seven decades, the JP Bayly Trust has been a cornerstone of hope for families who have faced hardships through their tireless efforts in providing welfare, education, and medical assistance, that has changed the lives of countless individuals over the years.

Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran, highlighted this in her speech while commemorating 70 years of service by JP Bayly Trust.

Kiran says their extreme commitment to helping the most vulnerable in Fiji, particularly underprivileged families, children, and individuals in need, has changed the lives of countless individuals.

She says their outreach and services have been a beacon of hope, a lifeline to many who might have otherwise been forgotten.

Kiran also stressed the partnership that will further enhance the services as the Trust signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Project Heaven that amplifies the impact of the efforts in protecting and promoting the well-being of children and families.

Trust Chairman, Digby Bossley says every year it brings them warmth and a great sense of joy to see the smiling faces of those Fijians in need receiving help.

Bossley also says as charitable trusts they are doing the job of the government feeding the hungry, providing education to the needy, and shelter to the poor yet they are being taxed.

He says they hope to work more efficiently with the government and get more help from other sectors to help the needy in Fiji. Bossley says as they celebrate 70 long years of service to Fiji, he wishes everyone to pause and think about the vision of the late JP Bayly who established the Trust in 1954, where he saw the need, and decided to take action.
