New Generation Party Acting Leader, Varinava Tiko

The Acting Leader of the New Generation Party, Varinava Tiko says many of the well-known political parties are holding big rallies in towns and cities to share their political messages, however, many communities he visited in Vanua Levu have not been visited by any of these parties.

He says some families who are struggling financially cannot travel to attend the rallies, while others are busy trying to put food on the table for their families rather than capturing the message from each party.

Tiko says from his visits in Vanua Levu and reaching out to those communities, they are very concerned about those left out.

He adds they visited the interior communities in Vanua Levu and were concerned that these communities were not aware of anything happening in politics.

The Acting Leader is calling on other parties that it is important to go down to the communities and visit families to hear their stories, rather than holding some big rallies somewhere that its difficult for them to attend.

Tiko says many are without internet services, while some have left their villages to farm in the jungle to support their families, rather than spending their time in a rally.

He further says they follow them to their communities and create awareness so they can be educated on politics and vote for someone that will be their voice in Parliament.
