Police are still investigating the matter where 15 students of a school in Tailevu were questioned and released for their alleged involvement in an assault case involving junior students.
The senior students aged between 16 and 18 years allegedly beat 14 junior students with a stick on the 3rd of this month.
Police say three of the junior students were medically examined.
When questioned if any action will be taken against the senior students if they are found guilty, Akbar says schools follow the student code of conduct policy to address such behaviour.
Akbar says operations in the school have normalized.
While officiating at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new classrooms at three schools in Kadavu on Tuesday, Akbar had said that bullying in hostels is common and there are strict punishment for bullies.
Akbar says students and teachers are not to hide any case of bullying in schools and hostels.
She further says parents are to teach discipline to students at home and those who display indiscipline is a reflection of their parents.
The Minister adds they do not want parents to take students home and then to find another school.
