Inspire Pacific, an NGO, that is committed to transforming the lives of at-risk children and fostering community growth in Fiji, has been given a boost as they received a $40,000 grant from the Chinese Embassy.

Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Fiji, Zhou Jian presented the grant to the Co-founder of Inspire Pacific Ben Morrison to aid the organisation in their efforts to empower young lives through programs such as the TAGANE MAI Rehabilitation and Integration Program.

Jian says in recent years, the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection, under the leadership of the Coalition Government has made stark contributions in the area of women’s rights, the care and protection of children and improving the livelihoods of the vulnerable.

He says the Embassy is more than glad and honoured to help the Ministry with its Child Rehabilitation and Wellbeing program and to advance the livelihoods of Fiji’s citizens.

While officiating at the grant handover, Minister Lynda Tabuya expressed her gratitude to the Chinese Ambassador for their generosity and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals in need.

She says this donation will undoubtedly make a difference in providing resources and support for the rehabilitation programs implemented by Inspire Pacific for our young children at risk.

Tabuya also commended Inspire Pacific for its dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for Fiji’s young children in need of rehabilitation and integration support.

An elated Morrison extended his appreciation to the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China for their immense support, while also acknowledging Tabuya for her assistance in their endeavours.

The Ministry says Inspire Pacific's initiatives align closely with their mission to establish a Child Rehabilitation and Wellbeing Centre, providing care and protection to at-risk children, juveniles, and young street dwellers whose young lives have been impacted by drug abuse and crime.

They say this grant will support Inspire Pacific in their provision of crucial support for at-risk youth, guiding them through a structured journey of rehabilitation, personal development, and successful reintegration into society.

They add the organisation's holistic approach combines practical training, emotional support, and community engagement to help individuals overcome obstacles and build brighter futures.
