The initial numbers from the workplace survey done by the Ministry of Employment and the International Labour Organisation shows that close to 115,000 Fijian workers have been affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
This has been highlighted by the ILO Director for Pacific Island Countries, Matin Karimli who says about 60 percent have gone into different forms of employment.
Karimli says there are also about 130,000 informal workers in Fiji.
He further says sectors affected by COVID-19 include Tourism, Retail and Manufacturing.
Karimli adds that the Ministry of Employment will release the final figures.
