The former CEO of Sun Insurance, Lolesh Sharma who is the co-founder of Auckland’s new state-of-the-art health club, Snap Fitness Mairangi Bay says he will bring a similar gym facility to Fiji should there be a change in Government.

Sharma says the use of indigenous language within the club is something that he intends to bring in to his proposed gym in Fiji which will ultimately help preserve an indigenous language.

Sharma adds while some people may have questioned the founders’ sanity with the new venture, he believes gyms now more than ever have a significant contribution to make to supporting the physical and mental health of our communities.

He says the gym industry must change from how they did things before the pandemic and it also has a duty of care.

Sharma says the new Snap Mairangi Bay facility does that by creating a unique sensory, digitally-driven experience that significantly improves health and fitness outcomes.

He adds this gym will not be a chore but an experience.

Co-founder, Jeremy Tevaga says the new health studio caters from the complete fitness spectrum of gym users, from heavy lifting to functional and cardio zones, with all conceivable equipment.

Snap Fitness Mairangi Bay will also offer a cafe called, Café Oilei which will offer healthy food, supplements, coffee and drinks.

Sharma adds as a nod to his Fijian roots, the new Snap Mairangi Bay will have pure Fijian product in all the showers. Sharma who now resides in New Zealand was charged with attempt to undue influence after it was alleged that he attempted to hinder or interfere with the free exercise or performance of the political right of the employees of Sun Insurance Limited that is relevant to the 2018 general elections.

However, FICAC had later withdrawn its case against Sharma saying they were unable to locate Sharma since the case was brought to court.
