Team Fiji Paralympic athlete Inosi Matea Bulimairewa says he never dreamt he would come this far and to be part of the Paralympic Games is unbelievable.

Bulimairewa is set to make his debut at the Games with his first event scheduled for next Tuesday.

The 33-year-old says he is looking forward to competing and is excited and nervous at the same time.

Bulimairewa says it's an exciting moment for him and his family and he hopes to do well in this competition.

After suffering from a rare bone cancer, Bulimairewa had his left leg amputated above the knee when he was just 11 years old.

It wasn't until 2012, and 12 years of using just crutches, that he finally got a prosthetic leg, motivating him to play sports.

Bulimairewa says if there was a piece of advice he could have given himself growing up, it would be to back his disability.

He says if he could get a personal best in the Games he will be happy with that.

Bulimairewa will take part in the Men's javelin F64 throw at 1am next Tuesday.
