Minister for Defence, Inia Seuiratu and National Federation Party MP Pio Tikoduadua.

National Federation Party MP Pio Tikoduadua says we need to look at the welfare of our disciplined forces because they have been doing a lot of work for over a year now while Minister for Defence and National Security Inia Seruiratu says the Government is taking responsibility of all its frontline workers very seriously.

While making his contribution to the Ministry of Defence and National Security Annual Report 2016–2017, Tikoduadua says there has been a lot of finger-pointing and it is unfortunate because confidence-building is an issue that needs to be addressed.

He says when our workers are tired and have no incentive of working harder, mistakes will happen.

Tikoduadua says members of our disciplined forces need to be helped because it is a concern right now and he feels bad for these people because fingers are being wrongly pointed at them.

He says they have been working long hours and their families are being left behind.

The NFP President says he cannot help these people but the Government has the capacity and the resources to look after the wellbeing of the frontline workers and their families.

Minister for Defence, Inia Seruiratu says our frontline workers are being given the best resources possible and this is not something new.

He says they understand the difficulty the workers go through when they stay away from their families in quarantine facilities.
