Hard work has paid off for Ratu Sairusi Ragogo for being the first from his family to graduate with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the College of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences at the Fiji National University.

Ragogo is originally from Rukua Village in Beqa says his six years of study was quite long and he acknowledges God, his family and friends for their support which has contributed to his achievements.

He says the struggle his parents have been through is very tremendous and they have sacrificed a lot for his education but they are proud of him as he is the first child in the family to achieve an MBBS degree.

He adds that he faced some challenges during his six years of study but he tried hard to adapt to the change in the environment from high school into tertiary and learn new things.

Ragogo says since he was in primary school he always dreamt of becoming a doctor and this is a dream come true for him and his parents.

He further says he loves to help people as he was always passionate about being a doctor and is thankful for the tutors and lecturers at the university as they are really helpful.

937 students graduated from the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
