The Higher Education Commission Fiji is partnering with the TVET institutions and the TVET department of the Ministry of Education in addressing the shortage of skilled trades personnels.

This was highlighted by the HECF Chair Steve Chand during the launch of their new logo and website which focuses on developing an innovative, relevant, resilient, sustainable, and engaging higher education commission.

Chand further says their slogan ‘Pioneering Your Future’ will build the brands identity and increase its recognition in promoting the Commission’s visibility, vision, mission, goals and commitment to excellence in providing quality services to all their stakeholders.

He also says the new brand will resolve the new challenges in the higher education space and strengthen the tertiary education system in Fiji which needs to develop young leaders, scientific researchers and knowledge creators.

The Chair says the Commission is also planning a series of activities to engage with stakeholders such as networking events, stakeholder surveys, higher education expo and other forms of engagements ensuring that all parties are part of the collective journey to success.

Meanwhile, Assistant Minister for Education Iliesa Vanawalu says the re-branding of the logo is a sign of reassurance that the Commission will ensure its mandate and responsibility of registering, regulating and safeguarding the national interest of students and parents.

He says the Ministry will also ensure that the Commission promotes the development of Fiji as a knowledgeable society through transparent and well-established criteria.
