A heavy rain warning remains in force for the whole of Fiji group while a flash flood warning remains in force for all flood prone areas, small streams and low lying areas of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.

A flood warning remains in force for flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Waimanu River while a flood alert remains in force for flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Wainimala, Waidina, Wainibuka and Ba river.

The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure lies over the group associated with clouds and rain and is expected to affect the group for the next few days.

They say water level at Nadi Bridge is above warning level and increasing, water level at Ba Fiji Sugar Corporation is above alert level and increasing while water level at Nadi Back Road Station was above warning level and decreasing.

Expect poor visibility on the roads, flooding of roads and settlements (formal and informal) in low lying areas and floodplains.

You can also expect significant disruption to traffic flow and transport route due to roads being flooded or closed.

The Nadi Weather Office says we can also have river and flash flooding of river catchments, leading to localised damage to infrastructure, agricultural farms and settlements near streams and riverbanks.
