Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and National Federation Party Professor Biman Prasad.

Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says it does not mean they are drunk on power by having community consultations.

Sayed-Khaiyum stated this when asked by Legend FM News for his response regarding the comments made by the Leader of the National Federation Party Professor Biman Prasad who had said the FijiFirst Government is drunk on power, is in election mode and allegedly abusing valuable state resources while 50 percent of our population is struggling daily to put food on the table for their children and families.

Prasad says he has received many calls in the last few days informing him that Cabinet Ministers were having Talanoa sessions in their communities.

In a press conference this afternoon, Sayed-Khaiyum says we are parroting Professor Biman Prasad.

He says it is a positive thing if the government ministers are going out and listening directly from members of the public regarding their concerns and issues.

He says people like Prasad have said that government does not really know what is happening to the people and when the ministers are now going out, Prasad is saying this should not be done.

Sayed-Khaiyum says Prasad is a person who is extremely inconsistent.

Meanwhile, Prasad says Sayed-Khaiyum should know that it is the credibility of his government that is in question and not the credibility of opposition leaders and members of parliament who reflect on what is happening in the country, how people are struggling to deal with deteriorating health services, rising cost of living and difficulties they have on a daily basis to put food on the table.
