Naita of ACS gets gold in senior girls 100 mtrs

Defending blue ribbon champion, Semesa Caginivalu and Domitila Naita of ACS won gold in the senior girls 100 metres

Defending blue ribbon champion, Semesa Caginivalu of Suva Grammar School had a brilliant run with a time of 10.47 seconds to win the senior boys 100 metres final for the second year.

Speaking after winning the high pressure race, Caginivalu said the medal is for his grandmother and his parents.

He admits it was scary running that race due to the pressure.

Despite all the pressure and two false starts by MGM and Natabua runners, Caginivalu had a brilliant start to edge the other runners in the final.

Grammar’s Aisake Manna settled for silver while Senirusi Rauqe of Queen Victoria School took bronze.

Caginivalu will also take part in the 200 metres and 4x100 metres events.

Meanwhile, Domitila Naita of ACS won gold in the senior girls 100 metres with a time of 12.43 seconds.

Naita dedicated her win to all her friends, parents at home in Vanua Levu and her previous school, Immaculate Conception College.

She says from the sub-junior grade to last year, she did not get any medals in the 100 and 200 metres events.

Mere Vocevoce of Swami Vivekananda College took home the silver in the senior girls 100 metres and Oca Dia Nasulunibawa of Natabua High School took bronze.

Mahatma Gandhi High School clinched gold and silver in the sub junior 100 metres final of the 2024 Coca Cola Games.

MGM’s Sera Nasilivata took out the gold medal while Charlotte Serevi took the silver medal.

Adi Cakobau School’s Mereadani Navele took the bronze medal.

Othniel Tuvusa won the first gold medal for defending champion, Marist Brothers High School in the sub-junior boys 100 metres final clocking a time of 11.6 seconds.

Junior Luke of MGM High took the silver while Isimeli Raibevu of Queen Victoria School settled for the bronze medal.

Marist athlete Haggai Sukanaivalu won gold in the junior boys 100 metres final with a time of 11.24 seconds.

Vailato Qumutia of RKS settled for silver while Suva Grammar’s Jolame Suguturaga took bronze.

Losana Lakai of Suva Grammar won gold in the junior girls 100 metres with a time of 12.99 seconds.

Elizabeth Colata of MGM High took the silver and Salaseini Logavatu of Swami Vivekananda College claimed bronze.

Grammar won gold in the intermediate boys and girls 100 metres respectively.

Nathaniel Chand of Grammar won gold with a time of 11 seconds, Emosi Laqere of MGM High School won silver while Josefata Tuinavitilevu of Natabua High School won bronze.

Meanwhile, Claudie David of Grammar won gold with a time of 12.27 seconds, Imeri Nasali of Adi Cakobau School collected silver and Lidia Waqairapoa of MGM High took bronze.
