The Fijian Government has paid out $15 million to more than 2,500 concessional loan recipients across Fiji.

This was highlighted by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama while officiating at the Fiji Day Food Fair 2020 at the Fiji Sports Council carpark.

Bainimarama says they are working with the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport to vet the concessional loans applications.

He says they are also processing more applications from the many thousands they received.

The Prime Minister adds that all the small business owners and companies participating in this food fair play a major role in the development of the economy.

He highlighted that before the COVID-19 crisis, small businesses contributed about 18% to the country's GDP and 60% to the labour workforce.
