Former Lautoka Muslim College students changing lives through youth foundation

Nearly 10,000 families have received food, medical aid and livelihood support through a group of former Lautoka Muslim College students who turned their small act of kindness during COVID-19 into a powerful youth foundation changing lives across Fiji everyday.

While speaking to fijivillage News, the founder of One Nation, All People Youth Foundation, 26-year-old Abdul Zorhab says the initiative began in 2021 when he and his former classmates saw many families struggling during the pandemic.

He says initially, they tried seeking donations through Facebook, but the response was slow and realizing that many in need were not being reached, they decided to go door-to-door, assessing the situation themselves.

Zorhab says seeing the impact of their work, they decided to formally register the foundation under the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The Founder further highlighted their recent efforts in Rakiraki, where they assisted a 74-year-old woman who was living alone in harsh conditions.

When asked about the challenges , the founder says one of the biggest challenges is securing donors, as not everyone is willing or able to contribute.

He says another major issue is criticism on social media, like false claims about their work, sometimes affect donor support.

Zorhab invites anyone willing to help or join their cause to connect through their social media pages and website.
