An Auckland couple who are former Fiji residents are again under investigation for allegedly breaching the Fair Trading Act in New Zealand.

According to Newshub, Mira and Lalita Singh were fined $60,000 this year for inadequately servicing fire extinguishers.

Newshub is reporting that the two are back to their old tricks.

Mark Van Dorsten from the PSL Fire and Safety company says he felt suspicious about a recent sale of ten extinguishers.

He says the couple paid folding cash, which for them is unusual.

The purchasers business is called 24 Hours Building Maintenance and it's solely owned by Mira Singh.

Earlier this year, Mira and Lalita Singh were fined for charging shops and restaurants to service their fire extinguishers, when they never actually did the work.

Mira says the 10 extinguishers they recently bought, are now in Fiji.

According to Newshub, by purchasing the extinguishers, the Singhs may have breached a court order that banned them from ever supplying or servicing fire safety equipment again.

Mira says he is not allowed to do any business in New Zealand but he has got a business in Fiji, which his daughter is running.

He says he only picked up the extinguishers and sent them to Fiji.

The Fire Protection Association in NZ has warned the suppliers of extinguishers not to sell to the Singhs.
