The Fiji Water Flying Fijians should keep their heads held high, knowing that the entire nation stands firmly behind them, offering their unwavering support every step of the way.

This has been stated by the Minister for Sports, Jese Saukuru following Fiji's heart breaking 32-26 loss to Wales in their first 2023 Rugby World Cup match this morning.

Saukuru has also congratulated the Flying Fijians for their exceptional performance and says despite the unfortunate loss, the Flying Fijians poured their heart and soul into the game, leaving a lasting impression on everyone.

He says their extraordinary display of talent, commitment and unwavering dedication has deeply resonated with the Fijian people.

On behalf of the Coalition Government and the entire nation, Saukuru has also applauded the team for embodying the true spirit of Fiji and exemplifying the values of hard work and determination.

The Minister has acknowledged the tremendous sacrifices made by the players and coaching staff to represent Fiji on the global stage, assuring them of unwavering support and encouragement from the Government.

The Minister says he is confident that the Flying Fijians will continue to exhibit their tenacity and skill, solidifying their position as a formidable force in the world of rugby.

Saukuru adds defeat should never extinguish the flame within; instead, it should fuel a stronger determination to overcome challenges.

He has assured the team that Fiji will be cheering them on throughout the tournament with unwavering support.

The Flying Fijians take on Australia at 3.45am next Monday in Lyon.
