Fiji’s National Digital Strategy 2025-2030 is set to generate thousands of jobs and contribute significantly to the country’s GDP by 2030 and this comes as the global digital economy is growing faster than the global GDP.

This has been highlighted by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communications Manoa Kamikamica today while speaking at the launch of the National Digital Strategy 2025-2030.

Kamikamica says digital transformation is no longer a choice but a necessity.

The Deputy Prime Minister says the National Digital Strategy focuses on five key areas, the first priority is building strong infrastructure and ensuring cyber resilience.

Kamikamica says the second critical area is digital inclusion and empowerment.

He stresses the importance of ensuring that all Fijians, including those in underserved communities, have access to digital tools and the skills needed to navigate the digital world.

The Minister for Communications says smart governance and digital public services are another important part of the strategy.

Kamikamica says there will be a time when all government services will be fully online, improving efficiency and transparency.

Kamikamica says sustainable development and global cooperation are also key elements of the strategy.

He says the global shortage of ICT professionals, particularly cyber analysts presents an opportunity for Fijian youth to enter the field.

Kamikamica calls for collaboration between the government, private sector, development partners and academia to make Fiji a digital leader.
