Many Fijians took to social media yesterday to show their appreciation to our frontline workers who have been working tirelessly to protect the nation against the spread of COVID-19.

Prompted by an NGO called Alliance for Future Generations, many individuals, organizations, expatriates and political parties posted messages, videos, photos and posters with #teamfijifrontlineworkers and #wearewithyou.

The USP deaf community shared a video where they are saluting the hardworking efforts of frontline workers that are working tirelessly to keep the country safe.

SODEPLA has saluted all frontline workers and has thanked them for their service and sacrifice during this difficult time.

National Federation Party says they want to show their deepest appreciation for the hard work being done by the Permanent Secretary for Heath, Doctor James Fong, Ministry of Health and the team in their efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

British Deputy High Commissioner to Fiji, Paul Welsh penned down a poem to show his appreciation to the frontliners and their support to the country’s effort to contain the virus.

EU Ambassador to the Pacific, Sujiro Seam says it is our task to help them by staying at home and getting vaccinated.

Alliance for Future Generations says they are honouring the sacrifices that they all had to make, personally and collectively – often spending prolonged periods of time away from their family, friends and loved ones; selflessly placing themselves in harms way by working at the frontlines, in hospitals, quarantine centres, airports, laboratories, checkpoints and communities in efforts to track and manage cases of COVID-19.

They have also thanked Permanent Secretary for Health, Doctor James Fong, Health of Health Protection, Doctor Aalisha Sahukhan and Chief Medical Advisor Doctor Jemesa Tudravu for being so patient with the public and for their tireless service and leadership in leading the nation’s COVID-19 containment efforts and response.

The Alliance also expressed their appreciation to the sign language interpreters who are ensuring access to information for Fijians with hearing impairment.
