The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua took an initial step to be more connected to their supporters by moving their training session to the province of Ra earlier this week.

This is part of their pre-season training as they look forward to the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season.

Fijian Drua Head of Athletic Performance Nacanieli Cawanibuka says this is a perfect opportunity for the players to get to connect with their fans and supporters.

Cawanibuka says he knows most of the people in provinces like Ra don’t get exposed to teams like the Fijian Drua or even the national team, and to be able to bring their training to this part of the island is an eye-opener for the players.

He says some players from the province of Ra have played on the world stage and this initiative is a great opportunity to give back to the people.

He adds moving their training sessions to Ra earlier this week takes them back to when our forefathers scaled the mountains of Ra, especially Nakauvadra.

Cawanibuka says it is also a great opportunity for some of the players who have links to the Ra province to connect with their people.
