Fiji will now be able to get assistance from Australian experts and technical specialists

An arrangement has been officially signed between the Australian Government and the Fijian Government to enhance the coordination for the deployment of Australian experts, advisors, volunteers and other technical specialists to Fiji.

The Permanent Secretary to the Office of the Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs, Yogesh Karan says this arrangement will enable Fiji to acquire experts and technical specialists in areas of health, disaster management and education.

Karan says this collaboration is timely, given Fiji is in the midst of the cyclone season and the deployment of experts in the field of National Disaster Management is critical in the preparation and readiness for natural disasters.

The Acting Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, Paul Wilson says this arrangement will help facilitate the deployment of Australian experts and volunteers to Fiji to meet significant humanitarian and development outcomes.
