As part of Fiji’s 50th Independence Anniversary Day, the Fiji Sports Council together with The Rotisserie have joined hands to present the Fiji Day Food Fair.

The main objective of the Fair is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of independence in a big way and also to support Small to Medium Businesses across Fiji during these challenging times.

Lead Organiser and owner of The Rotisserie, Felisha Tuiloma says it is very encouraging having Communications Fiji Ltd, parent company of FM96, Navtarang, VitiFM, Legend FM, Radio Sargam and fijivillage join them as media partners. Tuiloma says this partnership together with interest from other corporate entities is a true show of support for small businesses and a collective drive to work together during these challenging times.

The Fair is looking to attract over 100 vendors and other small businesses including ride operators, face painters, entertainers and cultural performers. Other community support will include local music artists showcased by CFL radio stations’ local vocal programs.

CFL’s General Manager Charles Taylor says they are excited about this collaboration and are looking forward to partnering and bringing this exciting new event to the listeners.

There are vendors coming from the west as well as across the greater Suva area looking to sell a whole variety of dishes and pastries for attendees who will be in for a treat.

Fiji Sports Council CEO, Litiana Loabuka says Fiji Day is not just about celebrating, it is also about collaborating.

Loabuka says this is their small way of giving back to the community through support to Fiji’s SMEs, and to be able to combine this with marking Fiji’s 50th independence anniversary is truly special.

She says they are grateful to the Rotisserie for this initiative and for corporates like CFL who have come onboard to support the day, and they anticipate others to follow suit.

The one-day event will take place on Fiji Day, Saturday 10th October from 8am to 8pm at the Fiji Sports Council Carpark. All safety precautions are a standard at any Sports Council event and they will continue to practise this throughout.

There will be loads of entertainment, entry is free to the public and there will be picnic tents and an entertainment area for patrons.

Vendors are currently registering for available spots at the Fiji Day Food Fair with the closing date for registration being Thursday 1st October.
