The hunt continues for the five men that broke into a house at Shalimar Street in Suva early yesterday morning and took off with items worth more than $10,000.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the matter was attended to by the Raiwaqa Police Station with the crime scene investigators.

She confirms no one has been taken into custody as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, the family are still in shock after the home invasion by five men with cane knives and iron rods early this morning.

Joana Ravono, who resides at Shalimar Street in Suva, says what they had experienced was like watching a movie.

She says that around midnight, five men broke into their house and told them to cooperate or they would be badly hurt.

Ravono says they were about to finish drinking grog when the incident occurred.

She also said that she tried to fight off one of the five men before another man put a knife on her neck.

She adds that she couldn’t do anything as she feared for her life and also her family.

Ravono says the total amount of items stolen is more than $10,000 as the men took off with four Samsung phones, a PS4, Bravia Bluetooth Speaker and their car keys.

She adds they reported it to the Police and are still awaiting their response.

Police were at the scene yesterday morning and returned to conduct further investigations later.

We are also asking Police on the number of reported home invasions and break-ins, and the plans to counter these crimes. Stay with us for developments.
