The Fiji Rugby Union will await the decision of World Rugby on the two upcoming tournaments in London and Paris.

This is in light of the COVID-19 outbreak where most affected countries have banned mass gatherings which also includes UK and France.

FRU Chief Executive Officer John O'Connor says they have been in contact with World Rugby and will always be guided by their decision and as for now the tournament is going on as scheduled.

O'Connor says World Rugby has been monitoring the effects of COVID-19 in the two countries and they will be calling them next week to confirm their decision.

He adds the National 7s teams will resume training once they complete their 14 days self-isolation which they are currently doing.

Meanwhile, two members of the Australian rugby sevens program have been tested for COVID-19 after showing signs and symptoms associated with the pandemic.

South African Rugby has taken several steps to combat the coronavirus outbreak, including testing their sevens and U20 sides for the disease while New Zealand 7s team have halted training after two of their recent opponents are being tested for coronavirus.
