FRA calls on all Fijians in the West to adhere to the advisory warnings

The Fiji Roads Authority is pleading with Fijians living in the Western Division to adhere to the advisory warnings after a vehicle ended up in a drain while trying to cross Wailailai flats which was underwater and closed for traffic.

FRA Manager Communications and Public Relations Ashneel Singh confirmed this afternoon that several parts of Ba and Tavua are still closed for traffic.

Singh also confirmed that these roads are currently closed, Kings Road, Tavua Town near Shop n Save is still flooded and closed to all traffic, Koroqaqa Road, Ba is still closed to all traffic, Varadoli Back Road, Ba still underwater and closed to all traffic, Ba to Wailailai flats still underwater and closed to all traffic.

Parts of Nadi that are open for all traffic are Queens Road from Lomolomo to Navutu, Queens Road from Lomolomo to Waimalika, open to 4x4 only and Queens Road from Navutu to Denarau.

Queens Road from Denarau Junction and Nadi Back Road are still closed to All Traffic.

FRA is advising Fijians in the Western Division that more rain is expected to affect the country.

The Fiji National Disaster Management Office is also advising members of the public residing in low-lying and flood-prone areas in the West to be on high alert and remain vigilant.
