The Fiji Roads Authority is hoping to continue with their road resurfacing works, routine maintenance and complete the existing projects in the new financial year.

Acting CEO, Kamal Prasad says they aim to resurface and reconstruct as many roads as they can with the available contractors.

Prasad says in the new financial year, it is about reorganizing themselves, getting their resources in place as they already know the restrictions that are in place.

He adds one of the issues they faced in this financial year was the supply of raw material which can be associated with the restrictions in place.

Some of the rip and remake program that FRA has completed in the Central Division are Nokonoko Road, Grantham Road, Ratu Mara Road, Nailuva Road, Khalsa Road, Votua Road, Ono Street and Ratu Dovi Road.

Some of the major projects they have completed are the work on Korosomo slip, the Anitoki Village Access Road, Namaka Village Road and Waidamu Bridge.

FRA was allocated $348.9 million in the 2020/2021 financial year.
