The Fiji National University in partnership with its stakeholders has launched a free anti corruption online course with an aim to curb corruption and raise awareness on good governance in the Pacific.

The course has also been launched to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day.

The six weeks course is named Ethics and Anti-Corruption in Oceania and it will start from the 18th of January next year.

FNU's College of Humanity and Education has partnered with Integrity Fiji, Transparency International, FICAC, Pacific Youth Council and Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to develop this course which cost more than $10,000.

Chairperson of Integrity Fiji, Jofiliti Veikoso says corruption is a big issue in the Pacific and through this course they want to encourage young people and educators to broaden their knowledge on basic ethics and good governance.

Veikoso says most of the people in our community do not know the risk of them being tricked which is why they face corruption everyday.

He says through this course they also want to educate people on what are the corrupt practices and how they will be able to report it.
