Methodist Church President Reverend Ili Vunisuwai

As hundreds of Fijians gather for the annual Methodist Church Conference from today, drugs, teenage pregnancy and poverty will be some of the issues that will be part of the discussion during the Conference.

Methodist Church President, Reverend Ili Vunisuwai says the church will find some ways to control and curb the increasing number of these cases with the best they can to contribute to what the government has been doing so far.

Reverend Vunisuwai also says the church is finding ways to contribute to the unity and reconciliation of every race in our nation, to bring the better Fiji.

He says it is what they call in the Methodist Church as Social Welfare and Christian Citizenship.

He further says there will be no fundraising and choir competition to be held as their main focus is on the major issues and the calling of pastors to be announced where to serve for the next five years.

The Methodist Church Conference’ will be held at Furnival Park in Toorak, Suva from today and ends on Friday.
