The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will look to cut out conceding silly penalties that will prove too costly for them when they take on the Hurricanes in round 2 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific this weekend.
Coach Glen Jackson says it was something they talked about after the game against the Brumbies last week after they got two players yellow-carded in the first spell, which killed them, even though they went to halftime with the lead.
Jackson says they talked about a couple of more penalties that were not great, so they need to stop those.
Jackson says this week against the Hurricanes, forcing them not to have easy entries into the Drua’s 22-metre line will be important to get an away win.
The Drua currently sits in 8th place in the overall standings with 1 point after round 1 of the competition, while Chiefs, Crusaders, Brumbies, Western Force and Waratahs are tied with 4 points each.
The Drua will take on the Hurricanes at 3.35pm this Saturday in McLean Park, Napier.
In other matches this week, the Chiefs will host the Crusaders at 6.05pm Friday, the Reds will play Moana Pasifika at 8.35pm Friday, the Highlanders will take on the Blues at 6.05pm Saturday, and the Brumbies will play the Force at 8.35pm Saturday.
