We Unite Fiji Party Deputy Leader, Doctor Jone Hawea and candidate Abel Camillo have been granted bail by the Chief Magistrate Waleen George.

They are charged with one count each of Malicious Act.

The two on 16th December were allegedly calling for a mass gathering to protest against the 2022 General Elections process at the Vodafone Arena.

Dr Hawea allegedly went live on Facebook on Friday evening, calling on people to gather in mass numbers at the Vodafone Arena to protest the 2022 election counting process.

Camillo also called on people via email to gather in numbers at the same venue in protest of the election process.

According to some of their bail conditions, they have been warned not to reoffend, not to interfere with witnesses, report at the Lautoka Police Station every Saturday between 6am and 6pm and ordered not to write information on the internet likely to cause fear.

Both matters have been adjourned to the 28th of December and will be called in the Nadi Magistrates Court.
