Doctor Brian Jones has been appointed the new British High Commissioner to Fiji.
He will be replacing George Edgar who will be retiring from the Diplomatic Service.
Doctor Jones will begin his term next month.
Acting High Commissioner Paul Welsh says Dr Jones has a wealth of experience and they look forward to welcoming him to Suva.
Dr Jones has also been appointed as the non-resident High Commissioner to Tuvalu, and the non-resident Ambassador to the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia.
