Do not feel that you will be behind in studies – Minister for Education

Minister for Education, Premila Kumar is calling on students to not feel that they will be behind in studies because they could not do much from remote learning as their teachers will help them.

In her Christmas message, Kumar is also calling parents and guardians to help their children prepare for school and continue to provide the strong support that they have been providing during these difficult times.

Kumar adds the 6 months of school closure has brought several new challenges that they have all been trying to deal with.

The Minister for Education adds students have lost several hundred hours of learning however, the support and understanding of all has been reassuring and gratifying.

She says things will be a little different when students go back to school with the COVID-safe measures in place. Kumar is urging students to talk to their teachers if they need any assistance.

Kumar further says teachers have been real heroes as they went beyond their normal duties to help the nation in its COVID battle.

Kumar says a number of their teachers are sacrificing their break to continue to support vaccination programmes and they commend them for this selfless deed.
